I am Chris Dalton a stained glass Artist based in Gateshead. Educated at Sunderland University with a BA Artist Designer Maker: Glass & Ceramics degree, I am also an experienced Community Arts Worker with 30 years experience of working with communities in the North East of England.
I mainly work with stained glass. I producing bespoke leaded lights and copper foiled pieces. Much of my work involves sandblasting and painting flashed glass.
I am inspired by the history and industrial landscape of Tyneside, the rural landscapes of Northumberland and seascapes of the North East. I am also inspired by art exploring identity, particularly LGBT+ and feminist art.
